Vegan Diet

Being a vegan is a lifestyle choice. A vegan does not eat anything that is of animal origin. A balanced vegan diet (diet without ANY animal products) meets many current healthy eating recommendations such as eating more fruit, vegetables and whole grains.

A balanced vegan diet is often rich in vitamins, antioxidants and fiber and can decrease the chances of suffering from diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol, digestion related illnesses and diseases, stroke and some cancers.

Intuitively, I became a vegan about a year ago.  Many foods made me sleepy, lethargic; I developed acne, had monthly migraines, suffered from depressions due to monthly hormonal changes, had long, painful periods, strong PMS symptoms and a poor, slow digestion. After choosing to live a life without animal products, I noticed changes almost immediately. Within 1 week I felt more balanced and happier. I noticed my intense PMS symptoms were gone, no more migraines, less cramping….

In general my health and overall feeling has improved. Even if you do not want to cut out all animal products completely, it is beneficial to decrease the amounts of animal products in your daily life. Add more vegetables, fruits and whole grains to your diet. You will be surprised about how much better you will feel.
