I have been working in various medical settings since 1995 (starting as an LPN in my native Germany)
My professional life in the United States began when I began working as a Registered Dental Hygienist in Tampa. Throughout my careers, I have always strived to continue learning and perfecting my professional skill-sets.
During my intensive studies of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, I put myself through school, working as a permanent make-up artist, owning my own successful business.
I decided to follow my true passion for health and wellness and took upon myself a major career change, to become a Doctor of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. (graduated Dec. 2016, East West College of Natural Medicine).
I am now a fully licensed and Board Certified Acupuncture Physician, having completed my NCCAOM Board Exams in Biomedicine (completed), Foundations of Oriental Medicine (completed), Acupuncture w/Point Location (completed), and Chinese Herbology (completed), and recently received my coveted “Diplomate” status.
During my extensive, hands-on clinical externship experience, I have acquired and honed the essential and critical skills needed for competent patient care, treating patients in the various TCM modalities:
- Intake/Diagnostics,
- Tongue and Pulse Diagnosis,
- Needling,
- Seeds
- Herbal Medicinals and preparations,
- Moxibustion,
- Cupping,
- Treatment Planning,
- Nutrition Counseling,
- Injection Therapy
- Cold-Laser Therapy,
- etc.
I am also a practitioner of the Aaron Mattes methos of “Active Isolated Stretching”. His stretches are not what you would commonly think of as ‘stretches’, but rather very targeted, patient-assisted, manipulations of joints and connective tissues, regaining lost movement, flexibility and range of motion. These do wonders for patients under my care!
While attending school full-time, I have created a solid reputation locally for setting the bar high for various types of common permanent makeup procedures and various forms of skin micro-needling, for purposes of skin rejuvenation. I enjoy an outstanding reputation as Master Artist, providing some of the best Semi-Permanent Cosmetics in the greater Tampa Bay area.
For my professional future, I am considering sharing my knowledge in some capacity, as well as running my own TCM/Acupuncture Clinic. Currently, I wish to focus my practice on areas of:
- pain management,
- rejuvenation,
- infertility, and
- nutrition.
- I will also incorporate aspects of functional medicine into my practice.
Aside from my extensive formal medical training, I am also an energy worker combining many modalities of Reiki (Usui, Karuna, Angelic Reiki and Kundalini). I use a combination of aids, including Crystals, Touch Healing, Sound Healing, and many other techniques that involve chakra balancing and healing on body, mind and spirit levels. I am a certified Reiki Master/Teacher direct from the traditional Usui line. I am a registered teacher and practitioner of the International Association of Reiki Professionals. I enjoy working with clients in workshops and private settings.
